39 Utah programs receive HUD grants

Homeless programs in Utah will receive $4.2 million from the Department of Housing and Urban Development. HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan says the grants announced Wednesday are funded through an initiative launched by President Obama to end homelessness called "Opening Doors."
Donovan says the money will go to 39 programs. It is to be used for operational needs. The programs are primarily in Salt Lake, Davis and Utah counties, according to HUD's website. Provo Daily Herald
