New building, remodels, relocations keeping Riverdale abuzz

If the construction in Riverdale is any indication, the economy seems to be picking up.

Cranes are in the air, busy constructing the new Larry H. Miller car dealership at Riverdale Road and 1500 West, as well as Noodles & Company/Cafe Zupas, south of Goodwood Barbeque along Riverdale Road. At Riverdale Road and 300 West, crews are digging up old fuel storage tanks in preparation for a 7-Eleven to move in. The existing carwash will be demolished to make room for building expansion. Sam's Club is gearing up for an interior remodel, including a drive-up canopy on the west side of the building. Once agreements are secured with surrounding businesses regarding parking, In-N-Out Burger plans to begin construction in the parking lot in front of the vacant Toys-R-Us building. The city has already issued all approvals. Jiffy Lube has secured the city's final approval to build in the parking lot south of McDonald's on 900 West. Aunt Nancy's Assisted Care Facility has been proposed on the northeast corner of Freeway Park and Ritter drives. City officials have inspected building plans but are awaiting the business' final site-plan presentation. Dubs Scrubs is relocating from 700 West for larger digs in the Freeway Park Drive strip mall. Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries has been looking for Riverdale locations as well. Standard-Examiner
