$2M Centerville dam intended to catch debris
Work on a $2 million project is expected to save residents money as well as give their homes protection against debris slides. Construction started in November to create a dam intended to intercept debris flows out of Centerville Canyon. This could potentially affect 200 homes between 100 North and 300 South and east of 400 East. Centerville fronted $200,000 for engineering costs for the project, but Davis County is picking up the remaining estimated $1.7 million for construction costs. Standard-Examiner
